What this page will and will not do

When deals are live in November, they will be posted here with the price pulled from the retailer and stamped with the date it was checked - the same live price layer used everywhere else on this site, which expires on its own after 48 hours rather than sitting there going stale.

Until then there are no deals on this page, because there are none to report. We are not going to predict a discount, publish a percentage nobody has announced, or run a countdown to a sale whose terms do not exist yet. What we can do before November is the part that actually changes the outcome: explain which parts of a jewelry price have room to fall and which do not.

The dates

US Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November, which in 2026 is Thursday 26 November. That puts Black Friday on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November 2026.

The event itself has run considerably wider than those two days for years. Amazon’s own newsroom stated that its Black Friday Week 2025 ran from 20 November through 1 December - twelve days, opening eight days before Black Friday itself. Treat the dates above as the middle of a window rather than as the window.

Why jewelry discounts differently from everything else in the sale

A discount has to come out of margin. That sounds obvious, but it is the entire explanation for why jewelry behaves oddly in a sale, because the share of the price that is margin varies more in this category than in almost any other.

The price of a piece of jewelry is roughly three things: the material in it, the cost of making it, and margin. The material is the part that cannot be discounted, because it is priced by a market that does not observe Black Friday. Gold is benchmarked twice every working day in US dollars per troy ounce through the LBMA Gold Price auction, at 10:30 and 15:00 London time. A retailer selling a chain close to its metal weight has almost nothing to give away; a retailer selling a plated brass chain has almost the whole price to play with.

That produces the uncomfortable pattern worth knowing before you shop: the deepest advertised jewelry discounts tend to appear on the pieces whose material is worth the least. A plated chain at seventy percent off is still a plated chain, and it will still be worn through in a year or two. The sale has not changed what you are buying - it has only changed what you paid to find out.

What the published data actually says

Here it is worth being precise, because a great deal of what gets written about jewelry sales is invented. Adobe Analytics publishes per-category discount depth from a dataset covering 18 product categories. For the 2025 US holiday season it reported peak discounts of:

Jewelry is not on that list. Adobe tracked jewelry spending during the season - it reported bracelets up 335% and earrings up 275% against pre-season October levels, which tells you the category sells heavily in Q4 - but it did not publish a peak discount figure for jewelry alongside the eight categories above.

So when you see a confident “jewelry is X% off on Black Friday” figure, it is worth asking where it came from. It is not coming from the dataset that produced the numbers in that table. It is usually a single retailer’s advertised claim, quoted as though it described a market.

For scale on the days themselves: Adobe put Cyber Monday 2025 at $14.25 billion in US online spending, up 7.1% year over year and the largest single online shopping day recorded in the US.

Buy now or wait: by product class

This table is reasoning from how each product is priced, not a prediction about what any retailer will do. Where the material is most of the price there is little room for a markdown; where margin is most of the price there is a great deal.

If you want the one-line version: wait on the things that are mostly margin, buy the things that are mostly material whenever you need them.

How to tell a real markdown from a manufactured one

This is regulated territory, and knowing the rule makes the trick visible. The US FTC Guides Against Deceptive Pricing say a “former price” only supports a bargain claim if it was a price at which the item was openly and actively offered for sale, for a reasonably substantial period of time, in the recent, regular course of business, honestly and in good faith. Where an artificial, inflated price was set up precisely so a large reduction could be advertised against it, the guides are blunt: the bargain being advertised is a false one.

Four checks, none of which take long:

• Was the “was” price ever charged? A strikethrough figure that nobody has paid in months is not a former price in any meaningful sense. Price history tools exist for exactly this.
• Is the comparison to a list price nobody uses? A manufacturer’s suggested price is not the same thing as the price the item has been selling at.
• Does the percentage change while the price does not? If the same piece is “40% off” one week and “65% off” the next at a similar number, the reference price is doing the moving.
• Has the specification changed? The one to watch in jewelry. Check that the discounted listing still says gold-filled, still says 925, still names the same stone and the same metal standard as the one you were looking at.

What to check on a discounted jewelry listing

A sale changes the price, not the product. The same four words decide the purchase in November that decide it in June: whether the listing names a material standard, whether it publishes a thickness, whether the base metal under any coating is named, and whether a stone is described as created where it is created. One additional check that is specific to sale season: confirm the return window. Buying in the November sales for a December occasion can push the gift past an ordinary thirty-day window. Extended holiday returns are common but not universal, and they are worth confirming before you buy rather than after.

Nothing will appear here that is not a real, currently-available price on a product we would have recommended anyway - a discount is not a reason for us to add a pick, and a sale is not a reason to recommend a material we would otherwise tell you to avoid.
